Englishman Robert Anthony (60), who was arrested last month by the London Metropolitan police and extradited to Ireland, is charged with the murder of Philip O'Sullivan (19) at Derrylough, Tuosist, Kenmare, in August 1997. He had absconded while on bail in 1998, a previous court sitting heard, and five warrants were issued for his arrest.

Judge James O'Connor adjourned the matter to a special sitting of Tralee District Court on August 21st. Mr Anthony, previously from Derrylough, was also sent forward for trial to the next sittings of the Circuit Criminal Court on two drugs charges.

Mr O'Sullivan's body was found by the side of the main Kenmare-Castletownbere road about nine miles from Kenmare, at about midnight on August 22nd, 1997.
