A post mortem was conducted yesterday at Carlow District Hospital on the body of Patrick Dillon (61), a shopkeeper from Bagenalstown, Co Carlow, who was found dead in his crashed van on Saturday morning.

A father of five, Mr Dillon ran a grocery business at Kilcarrig Street, Bagenalstown, and also farmed in his native Grange area of Co Carlow. His van was discovered at Rathwade, about two miles from Bagenalstown, on a minor road leading to Carlow.

Gardai investigating the death are not seeking anyone else in connection withit. A shotgun was found in the van.
