The man arrested yesterday by Gardai investigating the murder of Christy Hanley in Kilbeggan is to appear before a special sitting of Tullamore District Court tonight at 11.15pm.
The man (46) was arrested in Dublin city at 2pm yesterday afternoon and is currently being held at Athlone Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act.
Mr Hanley (83) was found dead in his home in Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, on Thursday, May 22nd following an anonymous phone call to a Midlands Garda station.
He bred and traded horses locally but was best known for his roulette wheel on street stalls at race meetings and town fairs around the country.
