A 32-year-old man is due to appear in Ardee District Court this morning charged in connection with the ramming of a garda patrol car in Dundalk, Co Louth.
The incident took place at 1.45 this morning when a vehicle failed to stop at the request of a Garda Traffic Corps unit.
The man was followed and onto the Armagh road where he collided with a taxi. The driver then turned his car around and drove directly at the garda patrol car, crashing into it.
The driver later crashed his car at Faughart Lower, Dundalk, where he was arrested. The arrested man has an address in Newry.
