A man has died after a car went into the water at Howth harbour this morning.
Shortly after 10.30am, the Coast Guard was contacted by members of the public who reported the vehicle had entered the west pier.
The Howth RNLI lifeboat, a Coast Guard helicopter and Howth Coast Guard responded rapidly and were joined by gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade paramedics.
A surface search was unable to locate the car. It was found shortly afterward by Garda divers, who brought the man's body to the surface.
