A MAN has been charged in court in connection with a robbery in Dublin last Tuesday where more than €300,000 was withdrawn by a bank employee whose partner had been kidnapped.

The woman (22) was forced to take the money from the Permanent TSB branch in Phibsboro after being sent a photograph via her mobile phone of her partner with a gun to his head.

The money was recovered at Broombridge railway station in Dublin later that day. A man who was arrested on the same date was brought before Dublin District Court yesterday morning.

Tony Quinn (29), with an address at Park View, Balbutcher Lane, Ballymun, was charged with handling €318,000 in cash at Broombridge on September 22nd last, contrary to section 17 of the Theft and Fraud Offences Act.
