A Co Antrim man has been charged with the possession of bomb-making equipment. Mr Samuel John McBratney (41), of Ballycraigy Ring, Larne, appeared at Larne Magistrates' Court yesterday morning accused of possession of metal casings, propellant, pyrotechnic fuses and components of improvised explosive devices with intent to endanger life. The charge relates to dates between January 1st and May 29th this year.
He is also charged with possessing, between the same dates, documentation and computer records relating to the manufacture of improvised explosive devices.
Mr McBratney is also charged with the possession of four improvised explosive devices with intent to endanger life or cause serious injury to property.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the Maze Court on June 30th.
