Gardai have charged a local man with the murder of 47-year-old Mrs Sheila Lynch, of Drumbarkey, Cootehill, Co Cavan. The man was charged after he had been questioned for almost 12 hours at Cavan Garda station. He will appear before Monaghan District Court at 11 a.m. today. Mrs Lynch's body was discovered at her home on Saturday evening when gardai called to the house after receiving a telephone call. The results of a post-mortem examination carried out by the State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison, showed that Mrs Lynch died from asphyxiation from either smothering or strangulation.
