Gardaí investigating the gangland murder of a man in Dublin last October have arrested a man.

David Thomas (43), of Cloonlara Crescent, Finglas, was shot in the head as he smoked a cigarette outside the Drake Inn, Finglas, just after 8.30pm on October 9th, 2009.

A man walked up to him and fired the shots before running to a car parked at a taxi rank close to the AIB on Main Street, Finglas. The dark blue Opel Corsa was driven to Glasmeen Park, Finglas, where it was burned out.

A man in his 20s was arrested this morning and is being held at Finglas Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
