A 39-year-old man has been arrested following the seizure of drugs worth €25,000 in New Ross, Co Wexford today.
The man was arrested following a planned search of a number of houses in the Ballywilliam area of the town.
Gardaí seized 2,480 ecstasy tablets with a potential street value in excess of €20,000 and cocaine worth €5,000.
During the course of the search gardaí also discovered two suspect devices in the shed of a house and alerted the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.
The army carried out a controlled explosion shortly after 3:30pm and the devices were found to contain explosive content.
The remains of the devices were then handed over to gardaí for an ongoing investigation into the incident.
The man is currently being detained at New Ross Garda Station under section 2 of The Drug Trafficking Act.
