AN Englishman who admitted having counterfeit sterling £20 notes in a city pub has been remanded on continuing bail for sentence by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Timothy Peel, a butcher, from Main Road, Hadfield, Hyde, Cheshire, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of nine forged sterling £20 notes on November 22nd, 1994.

Mr Shane Murray, defending, asked for an adjournment to February 4th to allow his client have his employer in court as a character witness.

Mr Roger Sweetman, prosecuting, asked that February 4th also be set down as the date for hearing an application by the State for the estreatment of £2,500 cash bail lodged by Mr Peel's co-accused, Mr Gerald, Parker, who failed to appear for trial.
