A 67-year-old man pleaded guilty at Galway Circuit Court today to 12 sample charges of indecent assault and buggery of four boys between 1962 and 1980.
Mattie Keady, of Bothuna, Spiddal, admitted seven counts of indecent assault and five counts of buggery of his victims. There were over 100 charges before the court, and they were allowed to stand while the State prosecuted on the sample charges.
Mr Conor Fahy, prosecuting, told the court the victims were receiving counselling at Galway Rape Crisis Centre, and victim impact reports could be made available.
Judge Carroll Moran remanded Keady on bail to the Circuit Court on May 15th next year and directed that a probation report be prepared and victim impact reports on that date.
