Man admits possessing bomb

A Dublin man has pleaded guilty at the Special Criminal Court to having an improvised explosive device at Ringsend last year.

A Dublin man has pleaded guilty at the Special Criminal Court to having an improvised explosive device at Ringsend last year.

Noel Mooney (29), of Leo Fitzgerald House, Dublin 2 admitted the unlawful possession of an improvised explosive device at Sean Moore Park, Ringsend on May 8th, 2008.

He also pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of two shotgun cartridges at waste ground at the park on the same date.

The court remanded Mooney on continuing bail until October when he will be sentenced.
