A man who ran away with a canister of cocaine from a car driven by a drug dealer has had his sentence adjourned for one year by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Anthony Stapleton (29), of Carrigwood, Firhouse, Dublin, admitted having 28 grams of cocaine, worth between £2,200 and £2,800, on May 19th, 1995.

Mr Barry White SC, defending, said Stapleton had attended Coolmine drug rehabilitation clinic and had made good progress.

Judge Cyril Kelly adjourned sentence until November 20th, 1997, and directed an updated report for that hearing.
