A Co Kildare man pleaded guilty at the Special Criminal Court yesterday to having a car bomb at Dun Laoghaire port last April.
Larry Keane (41), of Cloney, Athy, admitted having 980 lb of an improvised explosive mixture, a timer power unit, an electrical detonator, two improvised booster tubes and an improvised detonating cord at Dun Laoghaire port on April 2nd last.
An earlier court hearing was told that Keane was about to board a ferry for Wales at the time of his arrest.
He was remanded in custody for sentencing on December 10th.
