A man charged with the murder of his wife was granted hail in the High Court yesterday. Mr Paul O'Donoghue, Aberdeen Street, Dublin, was charged with the murder of Ms Miriam O'Donoghue at Ashfield Gardens, Mulhuddart, between January 24th and 26th. Gardai opposed the application. Mr Justice Carney allowed bail to Mr O'Donoghue in his own surety of £1,000 and an independent surety of £10,000. He must report daily to a Garda station and surrender his passport.
Bail was also allowed to Mr Sean Bambrick, Cypress Green, Loughboy, Kilkenny, who is charged that on April 30th, 1997, at the grounds of the Mill Hill Fathers, Waterford Road, Kilkenny, he murdered Mr Michael O'Sullivan. Mr Justice Carney fixed bail at Mr Bambrick's own surety of £1,000 with an independent surety of £10,000 or two of £5,000 each. He is to report daily to Kilkenny Garda station between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
