Man (70) dies in Clare collision

A 70 year-old man died following a two-vehicle collision in Co Clare last night.

A 70 year-old man died following a two-vehicle collision in Co Clare last night.

The collision happend at the junction of O Callaghan Mills Road and the Scariff to Ennis Road in Tulla at around 11.30pm.

The man who died was driving one of the vehicles and was pronounced dead on arrival at Ennis Regional Hospital. The male driver of the second vehicle, a jeep, did not receive any injuries.

There were no other occupants in either of the vehicles.

The scene was examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has reopened to traffic.
