Gardaí are continuing to examine the scene of a crash in Co Cork this morning in which a 21 year-old man was killed.
The young man who is from Mahon was the driver of a car which collided with a pole at Bridgemount in Carrigaline.
The crash happened at around 5.30am just off the link road around Carrigaline as a group of friends were heading back to Cork city.
The young man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cork University Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Four other occupants of the car, all in their early 20s, were also injured in the crash and brought to Cork University Hospital.
However, none of the four, which included two men from Mahon, a man from Grenagh and a young woman from Carrigaline, suffered serious injuries.
The road has been closed to allow a Garda forensic crash investigator to carry out an examination of the scene.
