Tegucigalpa - Supporters of Mr Ricardo Maduro took to the streets across Honduras in celebration early yesterday, honking car horns and waving flags as official results showed their candidate winning the country's presidential election.
With nearly 40 per cent of ballots counted, Mr Maduro, from the conservative National Party, had 53 per cent of the vote, against 44 percent for opponent Rafael Pineda from the governing Liberal Party.
