Love was in the air at Waterstone's on Wednesday evening when John MacKenna gave a reading from his fifth book, A Haunted Heart. This time last week he and Caitriona Ni Fhlaithearta, from Inis Mor, were married in a tiny church in Curraghclone, Co Laois. It was a beautiful day, they said, and theirs was the first wedding to take place in the small country church since the early 1970s. Now, they're off to Cornwall on their honeymoon.
His book takes the true story of a group of White Quakers, who tried to establish a vineyard at Newland's Cross in the 1830s, as its jumping off point. He changes the location and the time - and the rest, he says, is fiction.
