A woman who won almost £600,000 in the National Lottery kept her winning ticket in a tin box in her bedroom for three weeks before claiming her prize.

The Dublin woman, who is in her 40s and wishes to remain anonymous, discovered that she had won the £591,300 jackpot for Saturday, September 28th, one hour after the draw but said she had decided to "take her time" and consult her family before claiming her winnings.

Tomorrow's lotto jackpot will exceed £2.5 million, as the jackpot has not been won for the last four draws. On Saturday, £1 million will be added to the jackpot for the October bank holiday weekend.
