Police in Los Angeles have searched the home of actor Charlie Sheen for guns which might be in violation of a temporary restraining order obtained last week by his estranged wife, Brooke Mueller.
A police spokeswoman said officers arrived at Sheen’s home in Sherman Oaks late yesterday afternoon and conducted a search which lasted for several hours. She said officers retrieved one weapon - an antique gun.
Ms Ball said such searches are routine when a person is subject to a restraining order. Authorities said Sheen was co-operative.
The actor later tweeted: "The LAPD were AWESOME. Absolute pros! they can protect and serve this Warlock anytime!!!"
Earlier, lawyers said Sheen and Ms Mueller had agreed a deal that settles any custody issues and will end her pursuit of a lengthy restraining order.
They issued a statement saying that the pair had “reached an agreement that resolves their differences”. The statement said the details of the arrangement were being kept confidential for the benefit of their twin sons.
Sheen was sacked earlier this week from his top-rated US comedy Two and A Half Men because of what Warner Bros Television said was "dangerously self-destructive conduct", difficulty at work and inflammatory comments to producers.
"After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen's services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately," the programme makers said in a statement.
Sheen (45), is the highest-paid actor on US television, and Two and A Half Men is the most popular comedy for network CBS, which broadcasts the series.
The remainder of the current season was cancelled 10 days ago after Sheen called producer and co-creator Chuck Lorre a "clown" and a "stupid, stupid little man".
