Liverpool 0 Sunderland 0
Liverpool suffered a hangover from their Champions League exit by failing to score for the second successive league game in their 0-0 draw with Sunderland at Anfield today.
It means they still trail Arsenal at the top of the Premiership after a superb show by Sunderland goalkeeper Jurgen Macho.
Diouf almost found the target in the 75th minute when he got on the end of Danny Murphy's corner.
He powered in a header, only for it to be deflected away from the target by one of his team-mates.
A minute later another Murphy corner caused Sunderland problems. Daio got clear of his marker but headed wide.
Sunderland goalkeeper Macho then somehow managed to get up and tip over a header from Murphy in the 84th minute following a corner from Riise.
