Limerick-based information systems firm Advanced Manufacturing Control Systems Ltd (AMCS) has raised €1.6 million in new funding to finance its expansion into the British market and for new product development.

New investors in the company include NCB Ventures, Mianach Venture Capital and Shannon Development.

The company develops information systems for the waste industry, which are used by local authorities and private waste firms to gather date on bins, bin locations and the weight of waste collected for 'pay-by-weight' systems.

Managing director of AMCS James Martin said the new investment would enable the company to accelerate its development plans to to provide its customers with the latest technology.
