The third day of the trial of a Co Louth man for alleged sex abuse of a neighbour's daughter continued yesterday at the Central Criminal Court with legal argument in the absence of the jury. The 53-year-old accused has pleaded not guilty to seven charges of indecent assault, three of forced oral sex, three of having unlawful carnal knowledge when the alleged victim was under 15 years and one charge of unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl on February 9th, 1997, when she was under 17 but over 15. The jury is expected to return today. The trial continues before Mr Justice Smith.
