Legal argument in murder trial

The trial of a Dublin woman accused of murdering her husband heard legal argument in the absence of the jury yesterday

The trial of a Dublin woman accused of murdering her husband heard legal argument in the absence of the jury yesterday. Ms Anna-Maria Sacco (21) has pleaded not guilty in the Central Criminal Court to the murder of her husband, Mr Franco Sacco (29), at their home at Coolamber Park, Templeogue, in March 1997.

The prosecution alleges Ms Sacco "brought about" the killing of her husband, though a teenage girl pulled the trigger on her behalf. The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was 15 at the time and was staying at the house. She will be sentenced next month after pleading guilty to Mr Sacco's murder.

The trial before Mr Justice O'Higgins resumes on Monday.
