Leeds 1 Charlton 2
Two goals in the final 10 minutes condemned Leeds to a fifth successive Premiership defeat at Elland Road and leave manager Terry Venables grimly hanging on to his job.
Kevin Lisbie initially cancelled out a wonder strike from Harry Kewell before a mazy Scott Parker run in injury time ended with a toe-poked goal to give the Addicks a third successive league victory.
Not even the return of Robbie Fowler, playing his first senior match of the season, could give Venables the win he had been hoping for following a week largely to forget.
Then 10 minutes from time Charlton grabbed the equaliser they fully deserved with a Konchesky cross nodded down by Bartlett into the path of Lisbie for a bouncing half volley from 10 yards that went beyond Robinson.
It prompted a double substitution from Venables as McPhail and Bowyer made way for Michael Bridges and Fowler, the latter given a rousing reception by the Leeds fans.
Leeds could have taken the points, but 90 seconds from time Bridges cracked a stunning 18-yard right-shot against the foot of the post.
Instead it was Charlton who stole the victory in injury time as Parker went on an unchecked run past three challenges before toe-poking the ball home beyond Robinson.
