Leeds United today announced a £10.1 million sterling operating profit for the year ending June 2001.
The Yorkshire side, who yesterday rose to the top of the Premier League following their 3-0 victory over Derby at Elland Road, also saw turnover rise 65 per cent to £86.3 million.
However, the vast sums involved in recruiting a team capable of challenging for domestic and European honours is also shown, a deficit of £12.7 million on transfers, turning the operating profit into a loss.
