The Rutland Centre, the residential addiction treatment centre in Dublin, is holding two lectures on addiction and its effects on individuals and their families in Milltown Park, Ranelagh, Dublin, on Monday, November 25th, and Monday, December 2nd, at 7.30 p.m. Admission is free.
The first lecture will be given by Ms Maura Russell, the newly appointed director of the centre. The title of the lecture is "Addiction: alcohol and drugs - their role in the destruction of human potential". The second lecture, on Monday, December 2nd, will be given by Mr Michael Hardiman who is a counselling psychologist and author of the book Children under the influence: healing children hurt by family alcoholism. His lecture will be on the theme of addiction and the family.
