The Football League have called a meeting next Tuesday to ensure all Division One clubs are fully appraised of the latest developments over the breakdown of the broadcast rights contract with ITV Digital.

The league are in dispute with ITV Digital owners Carlton and Granada following the company's entrance into administration yesterday and the likely non-payment of £180 million they are contracted to shell out to clubs for the live transmission of matches.

League spokesman John Nagle announced the meeting will take place in London on April 2nd.

He added: "This meeting will provide an opportunity to update the clubs on the current situation. The solidarity they have shown over this issue has been exceptional."

Nagle added there is no question, as far as the league are concerned, of any interruption to the programme of live match broadcasts while ITV Digital are in administration.

"We will continue to ensure we meet our side of this agreement with ITV. It will not be the league that breaches its contract," he promised.
