Hibernian manager Alex McLeish admits that Russell Latapy will not play for the Easter Road club again.
The Trinidad & Tobago international was charged with drink-driving on Friday and was dropped for the last Edinburgh derby of the season against Hearts.
McLeish said after the goalless Edinburgh derby clash with Hearts that Latapy would miss next week's game against Rangers, and the Scottish Cup final against Celtic, for failing to show up for training on Friday and for breaking rules that forbid players to drink 48 hours before a game.
Latapy was set to leave Easter Road at the end of the season anyway but the Hibs boss is adamant that he will not take part in their final games.
McLeish said: "Russell won't play for the club again. It has nothing to do with the alleged drinking offence this is purely a football decision.
"He didn't show up for training on Friday and I had to take action for the good of the club.
"It is a shame that it has to end this way as he has been a great player for the club and has helped us to come a long way in a very short time.
"He knows himself that he's blown it he won't play in the Rangers game and he won't play in the cup final. -PA
