Defending champion Pat Cash failed in his attempt to make the final of the Honda Challenge when he was beaten 7-5 6-4 by the in-form Czech newcomer Petr Korda.
Korda will meet fellow left-hander Guy Forget in the final, starting at 1.30pm tomorrow.
The 33-year-old, who was recently persuaded to join the Champions Tour by John McEnroe following almost two years without even lifting a racquet, was disappointed that he would not be meeting the American in the final.
"I'm happy I won the match but I wish I could play John _ John is my idol. John is the ambassador of this tour, he gives it his heart and soul, he is the reason I am here."
Earlier in the day Korda had watched Forget's awesome serving performance and said: "Guy's got a big serve, a huge serve. I wish we could play the match on clay."
