TIGHT security will be in operation around Leinster House tomorrow when the German Chancellor, Dr Helmut Kohl, addresses the Dail.
Dr Kohl, the first German Chancellor to visit Ireland in 17 years, will also discuss EU and bilateral matters with the Taoiseach, Mr Bruton. The last Chancellor to make an official visit to Ireland was Mr Helmut Schmidt.
Dr Kohl leaves tomorrow but he returns at the weekend for the informal European Council meeting at Dublin Castle.
The Dail, which does not sit today, will resume business after Dr Kohl's 3 p.m. address tomorrow but there will be no Question Time. The Control of Horses Bill is due to go to the report and final stages as is the Health (Amendment) Bill.
Fianna Fail will use its private members' time tomorrow and Thursday to press a motion calling on the Government to abolish the controversial Residential Property Tax.
