Berlin - Germany's Christian Democrats said yesterday their executive board would question the former chancellor, Dr Helmut Kohl, about a widening scandal over campaign funding.
Senior CDU officials said the party leaders wanted to ask him about his role in the affair.
Dr Kohl has come under growing pressure to explain what he knows about an arms dealer's DM1 million cash donation to the CDU in 1991, alleged to have been handed over in a metal suitcase in a car park.
