A man who allegedly stole money from a woman while armed with a bread knife and claiming to have a syringe was remanded in custody in Dublin District Court yesterday. Mr Noel Cooke (19), of Dolphin House, is alleged to have taken the woman's car and £20 near the Mount Pleasant Tennis Club in Rathmines on Wednesday of last week. He is charged with taking another woman's handbag on July 28th.

Judge Mary Malone remanded him in custody for a week for service of the book of evidence.
