Band equipment worth more £150,000 was destroyed when a transport vehicle belonging to the musician, Dominic Kirwan, was hijacked and burned near Armagh early yesterday morning.
Mr Kirwan's band had been performing earlier in south Armagh. His equipment was being transported in a Ford lorry when it was stopped around 4 a.m at the junction of the Keady and Newtownhamilton Roads near Armagh.
The vehicle was set alight, and used to block the road. Mr Kirwan also lost promotional material valued at £10,000 in the hijacking, according to police.
