Kathmandu - NEPAL'S King Birendra yesterday called for a special session of parliament to debate a no-confidence motion against the three-month-old centrist coalition government, the palace said.
The Prime Minister Surya Bahadhur Thapa last month asked the king to dissolve parliament and hold fresh elections. But the opposition, led by the United Marxist Leninist (UML) party, had asked the king to make the move he made yesterday.
