Republic of Ireland manager Brian Kerr has confirmed that there will be changes made for tomorrow's Euro 2004 clash against Georgia in Lansdowne Road, after he came under criticism for his tactics in last weekend's game against Albania.
"We won't start with the same eleven we started with on Saturday," said Kerr. "Two games in such a short space of time is physically very demanding for the players - we have to consider that and it has to be part of the reason why there will be a change.
"It has been a long season for everybody. Some players will feel they didn't play often enough, while others played very often, and that has to be a consideration."
Meanwhile Damien Duff sat out this morning's training session in Malahide despite news that his knee injury has improved.
The Blackburn winger did some work in the gym but Kerr refused to confirm whether he would make the team sheet for tomorrow's must win game.
"It's too early yet to say whether he'll be fit, whether he is in contention for tomorrow," said Kerr.
"We'll have to wait until tomorrow morning," said the manager. "But he is feeling a lot better and he's moving a lot better."
Manchester City defender Richard Dunne is also doubtful with an achilles injury.
Milwall midfielder Stephen Reid is set to start if Duff is not available. Reid shook off an injury ahead of the win over Albania before coming on as a substitute and finishing unscathed.
"Steven is an option to start the game," added Kerr. "He was delighted to get on the pitch at the weekend and that was very positive for him, especially as he suffered no adverse reaction to the injury.
