Roy Keane and Fabien Barthez could be ruled out of Manchester United's English League Cup semi-final first-leg tie against Blackburn tomorrow night at Old Trafford.
United captain Keane, only recently back in action after four months out following hip surgery, was substituted during Saturday's 4-1 FA Cup third round win over First Division leaders Portsmouth with a tight hamstring.
Keane was due to have a scan this morning. French goalkeeper Barthez did not feature at all on Saturday as he continued to undergo treatment on a thigh strain.
Roy Carroll, who deputised at the weekend, could be between the posts again.
League Cup holders Blackburn could have former United forward Andy Cole in their line-up after he was rested for the club's 4-1 FA Cup win against Premiership rivals Aston Villa on Saturday.
But defender Craig Short and winger Damien Duff are both set to miss the match because of hamstring trouble.
