A jury has been ordered by a Central Criminal Court judge to acquit a man accused of taking part in the gang rape of a pregnant woman in Co Monaghan.

Two other men are still charged with raping and imprisoning the woman in her home and beating her boyfriend unconscious.

The trial has reached its closing stages and the jury will resume its deliberations today before Mr Justice Barry White. All three had pleaded not guilty to all counts.

The attacks are alleged to have taken place between November 15th and 19th, 2010.
