DENVER - The jury in the trial of the Oklahoma City bombing defendant, Mr Timothy McVeigh, began deliberating on his guilt or innocence yesterday after five weeks of testimony. After a recess last night it will resume today.
"You will retire and begin your deliberations in this case," Judge Richard Matsch said after giving the jury final instructions on the federal law and how it must treat evidence in the case.
Mr McVeigh is accused of blowing up the Alfred P. Murrah federal building on April 19th, 1995, killing 168 people in the worst attack on civilians in US history. The decorated Gulf War veteran (29) has pleaded not guilty to murder and conspiracy charges. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
