Judgment was reserved in the High Court yesterday in the application to quash a licence for a hazardous waste incinerator at the Roche Ireland pharmaceutical plant at Clarehill, Clarecastle, Co Clare.
Ms Orla Ni Eili, Harmony Row, Ennis, brought the action against the Environmental Protection Agency. In December 1996, the EPA granted a licence to the company permitting the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and their intermediates and the incineration of the hazardous waste of such production. It is that decision which is being challenged.
