Compensation offered by Dublin Corporation to a 12 year old boy has been described as "derisory" by the President of the Circuit Court.
Mr Seamus Woulfe, counsel for John Paul Murphy, told the court that corporation workmen had been welding window frames near his client's home in Markievicz House, Townsend Street, when he climbed on to and fell from a trailer which had allegedly been left unsupervised during a meal break.
Mr Woulfe said the corporation had originally offered £2,500 and had increased this to £4,000.
Mr Justice Spain adjourned the matter for a week, saying "The reality of this case should be brought home to the corporation."
