Jordan said it was investigating the cause of an explosion today in the Red Sea port city of Aqaba.
"An explosion took place early morning today in a refrigerated warehouse in the northern part of the city of Aqaba, which caused minor material damage but no fatalities," Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications Nabil Sharif said in a statement.
Initial media reports said that rockets had been fired at the neighbouring Israeli port city of Eilat from the Sinai Desert in Egypt. Al Arabiya television said that two rockets were fired at Eilat, while the Israeli Haaretz newspaper reported that one Katyusha rocket struck near Aqaba.
The Israeli army said in an e-mailed statement it found no sign of rocket fire near Eilat.
