The case of a top jockey charged with indecently assaulting an air stewardess on a flight is being sent to Crown Court after he appeared before magistrates in London today.

Mr Timmy Murphy (27) who won the 2001 Irish Grand National on David's Lad and enjoyed his best season last term with 98 winners, is accused of fondling the woman in first class while drunk during a Virgin flight from Japan to London Heathrow on April 14th.

The Co Kildare-born jockey, who lives at Tucker's Road, Faringdon, Oxfordshire, spoke only to confirm his name, age, and address at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court.
