A man who was caught with more than €22,000 in cash which he admitted was “probably” the proceeds of drug dealing has been jailed for 18 months at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Edward Temple (26) of Abbeywood Crescent, The Oaks, Lucan, Co Dublin, pleaded guilty to possessing €22,530 which he knew to be the proceeds of crime on Fassaugh Road, Cabra, on October 5th, 2009. He also admitted to being in possession of €300 worth of cocaine.

Pieter Le Vert, defending, said Temple spent much of his time caring for his mother and grandmother, and saved €160 a month for his child.

Judge Martin Nolan said he was satisfied Temple had been more intimately involved in drug pushing than he had indicated.
