More than 1,000 people took to the hills for the annual Jack and Jill Run up The Hill 2010 in Kenmare, Co Kerry, to raise money for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.

Chief organiser is Kenmare postmaster John O’Sullivan whose son Seán was supported by the Jack and Jill charity after a fall in 2007, at age 20 months, led to a brain bleed.

The foundation was set up in 1997 by Jonathan Irwin and his wife MaryAnn O’Brien to help young children in Ireland who are born with or develop brain damage and who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay as a result.
