Italian clubs have voted to delay the start of the Serie A season by two weeks due to a row over television rights.
The Italian Football League will start the season on September 15th rather than the planned date of September 1st because eight Serie A clubs are still without pay-per-view television deals for next season.
The decision to delay the season was relayed by Gino Corioni, president of Serie A side Brescia.
Corioni's club is one of 11 which does not have broadcast arrangements with pay-per-view stations Stream and Telepiu.
The other teams are Atalanta, Chievo, Piacenza, Perugia, Coma, Modena, Empoli (all Serie A) and in Serie B - Verona, Venezia and Vicenza.
The clubs have formed a consortium, Plus Media Trading, to fight for their share of television rights.
