The basking shark takes centre stage in Wild Ireland magazine, the latest creation of the online wildlife education, web-broadcast, and information company. Since 1998, Wild Ireland has become the largest Irish wildlife and environment information resource, publishing and broadcasting in print and online. It is also responsible for a number of innovative web-casts including live coverage of the total eclipse of the sun in August 1999, and Nest Watch 2000; footage of nesting jackdaws streamed live on the web - a collaboration with RTE's Mooney Goes Wild on 1. It has published a popular online magazine over the past two years. The on-the-shelf publication, which reflects the diversity of Ireland's wildlife and environment and associated issues, is aimed at a broad national and international market. It is designed to complement an interactive learning experience on Wild Ireland's website www.wildireland.ie.
