The Department of Foreign Affairs is considering issuing advice to Irish people planning to travel to France after an 11th night of rioting throughout the country.
A spokesman for the Department said it was reviewing the situation closely in conjunction with the Irish embassy in Paris.
"We would urge people travelling to France to be vigilant, watch local media and to liaise with their tour operator," he said.
A number of countries, including the United States, Britain and Australia have issued warnings to their citizens travelling to France to exercise extra vigilance.
More than 200 French towns and cities have been the scene of rioting since disturbances started on October 27th.
From an original outburst of anger in suburban Paris housing projects, violence has spread into a nationwide show of disdain for French authority from youths, including the children of Arabs and black Africans angered by high unemployment, poor housing and discrimination.
